ScriptLab program je usavršavanja u trajanju od devet mjeseci usmjeren na igrane filmove, originalne ideje, kao i adaptacije u ranim fazama razvoja putem kojeg iskusni i novi filmaši iz cijelog svijeta kroz grupni rad i uz podršku profesionalnih savjetnika za scenarije razvijaju svoje projekte.
Naime, u programu će sudjelovati 16 projekata u fazi razvoja koji će biti podijeljeni u 4 grupe, a svaku će voditi mentor s bogatim iskustvom kao savjetnik za scenarije. Tijekom godine projekti će se razvijati kroz obogaćujuće iskustvo dijeljenja ove kreativne faze procesa pisanja s drugim filmašima u grupi. Kako bi se nadopunili razgovori među kolegama, program obuhvaća i sesije jedan na jedan s mentorom u skladu s napretkom projekta.
ScriptLab nudi i masterclassove na kojima će se sudionici susresti s profesionalcima iz industrije kako bi razgovarali o ulozi kreativnog producenta u ranom razvoju te suvremenim izborima za produkciju i distribuciju s fokusom na digitalne alternative, vještinu usmenog pripovijedanja i rad za klimatski osviještenu filmsku industriju.
Program će kulminirati završnom prezentacijom projekata tijekom TFL Meeting Eventa u studenome: svi sudionici svoje projekte, zajedno sa svojim producentom (ako postoji), predstavljaju publici posebno pozvanih međunarodnih producenata, prodajnih agenata i drugih profesionalaca iz filmske industrije te imaju sastanke jedan na jedan s donositeljima odluka.
Rad na radionici strukturiran je u tri rezidencijalna modula, uz dva online modula, koji će se održati kako slijedi:
ScriptLab je otvoren za iskusne, ali i za nove scenariste/redatelje ili timove scenarista i redatelja iz cijelog svijeta. Moguće je prijaviti se pojedinačno ili kao tim od dvoje (projekti scenarista bez pridruženog redatelja nisu prihvatljivi).
Također, uz projekt nije potrebno imati producenta, a kandidati koji se prijavljuju s projektom adaptacije moraju imati osigurana prava. Također je važno napomenuti da je ScriptLab namijenjen samo za projekte u ranoj fazi razvoja stoga oni koji već imaju nacrte scenarija neće biti razmatrani.
Prije početka procesa prijave prijavitelji moraju kreirati račun na stranici TFL Visitor Page, gdje je potrebno priložiti sljedeće materijale: sinopsis projekta, pismo namjere redatelja, životopis, dokument koji objašnjava zašto mislite da će ScriptLab biti koristan za vas i vaš projekt te poveznice na prethodne audiovizualne radove, jasno prikazane, a ne utjelovljene u tekstu (s lozinkom, ako je potrebno). Rok za prijavu je 4. studenoga 2024.!
Odabrani kandidati bit će obaviješteni putem e-maila 9. - 10. prosinca 2024. te će se od njih tražiti da dostave tretman i osobnu videoporuku s ažuriranim statusom projekta (moodboard nije obavezan) do 12. prosinca 2024. godine. Nakon predselekcije kandidati koji uđu u uži izbor bit će obaviješteni o tome početkom veljače te intervjuirani putem Zooma u drugoj polovici veljače 2025. godine.
Kotizacija za sudjelovanje na radionici iznosi 2500 eura po osobi, uz dodatnu naknadu od 2000 eura za drugog sudionika po projektu (koscenarist, redatelj). Navedeni iznos pokriva troškove obuke i smještaja, a sudionici sami snose svoje putne troškove.

ScriptLab is a training programme focused on fiction feature films, both original ideas and adaptations, in early stages of development where both experienced and emerging filmmakers from all over the world develop their projects through peer-to-peer group work, with the support of professional script consultants for the duration of nine months.
The programme welcomes 16 projects in a treatment stage that are selected to work in 4 groups, each guided by a tutor with wide experience as a script consultant. Throughout the year the projects are developed through the enriching experience of sharing this creative stage of the writing process with the other filmmakers in the group. To complement the peer-to-peer conversations, there are 1:1 sessions with the tutor as the project advances.
ScriptLab also offers Master Classes where the participants will meet with industry professionals to discuss the role of the creative producer in early development, contemporary choices for production and distribution, with a focus on digital alternatives, the craft of oral storytelling and working for a climate-conscious film industry.
A final presentation of the projects during the TFL Meeting Event in November concludes and completes the programme: all participants present their projects, together with their producer (if any), to an audience of specially invited international producers, sales agents and other film industry professionals, and have one-to-one meetings with Decision Makers.
The work is structured within 3 residential modules, plus 2 online modules, as follows:
ScriptLab is open to both experienced and emerging writer/directors, or teams of writer and director, from all over the world. It is possible to apply as an individual or as a team of two (projects by a scriptwriter without an attached director are not eligible).
Also, it is not necessary to have a producer attached to the project, while filmmakers applying with an adaption project need to have secured the rights. It is also important to note that ScriptLab is for projects at an early stage of development only, thus projects who already have drafts of the screenplay, will not be considered.
Before starting the application process, applicants must create an account on the TFL Visitor Page, where it is necessary to submit the following requested materials: a project synopsis, a director’s intention note, CV, a document explaining why you think ScriptLab will be useful for you and your project and links to previous audio-visual works, clearly displayed - not embodied in the text (with password, if needed). Application deadline is November 4, 2024!
Preselected applicants will be notified by email on 9th - 10th December 2024 and will be asked to submit a treatment and a personal video message providing a status update on the project (a moodboard is optional) by 12th December 2024. After this pre-selection, the shortlisted applicants will be notified at the beginning of February and will be interviewed via Zoom meetings in the second half of February 2025.
The workshop participation fee is 2,500 euros per person, with an extra fee of 2,000 euros for the second participant per project, selected to join the programme (co-writer, director). The training and accommodation are covered during the workshop, while participants must cover their travel expenses.
